The Tommie Novella Pettit Community Support Drive
As we move toward fall and winter, Central Texas temperatures can turn brutal for our unsheltered neighbors, and even basic necessities like warm socks, gloves, and blankets can be difficult to come by. Their pets feel the cold too, often with even less protection.
This is an ongoing effort, not a one-time seasonal drive. We're collecting funds to purchase new socks, gloves, and blankets for unsheltered individuals, along with warm supplies for their pets, all in loving memory of Tommie Novella Pettit, my grandmother.
How You Can Help
💛 Give directly — Net funds received, after any payment-processing fees, will be used to purchase and distribute socks, gloves, and blankets to our unsheltered neighbors and pets throughout Central Texas.
This drive currently accepts monetary donations only. We're actively working to set up physical drop-off boxes throughout the community, and we'll share those locations as soon as they're available.

Rooted in Care is a community support initiative of Confident Career and Life Coaching, LLC. CCLC is not a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Payments and donated items provided through this drive are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. No goods or services are being provided in exchange for a payment.
Net funds received through the Stripe payment page, after any payment-processing fees, will be used for the stated drive purpose; purchasing and distributing new socks, gloves, and blankets to unsheltered neighbors in Central Texas.
Actual quantities may vary based on supplier pricing, taxes, shipping, order size, and seasonal availability. If circumstances require, funds may be used among the listed supplies to best fulfill the drive's purpose.
CCLC will maintain records of funds and items received.
Distribution takes place weekly, and each donor will receive a thank-you card along with information about who benefited from their donation.

Rising and Rooted is an 8-week leadership cohort for women of color, built around identity-rooted leadership. Through weekly live sessions, you'll build your own Rooted Leadership Blueprint, a personal roadmap shaped around your own context rather than a template.
Founding Cohort begins January 20, 2027, with nine Core seats and three Rooted+. Three scholarships available.
Applications for the three Core scholarships close November 10, 2026.
